Michigan History

Michigan History

In this fun class, students will learn about Michigan’s history, landmarks, animals and more! Class time will include read-alouds with students then having hands-on activities and experiments based on the reading. Facts and ideas will come to life as they spend time together mapping, building, coloring and experimenting! Homework will be minimal, with a year-end project (building/painting/cooking/or lapbook, etc.) that will be shown in class. My goal for this class is that students will not only learn how and why Michigan exists, but
also understand and appreciate all that our state has to offer!

Elementary Geography

This course will provide an exciting opportunity for students to explore the world through maps, architecture, history and more! This will be a very hands-on class; time will be spent mapping and listening as well as doing experiments and activities. Students will be challenged to identify continents
and thirteen specific countries and begin to understand the ideas and features specific to each of those countries. Homework will be limited to semester projects such as building with LEGOs/blocks, painting or drawing, food projects, etc. along with a verbal or written explanation of the project. The goal of this
class is to see each student begin to understand and get excited about the world that God has created!
